About
How we work
We work small. We do not ship until we would use it ourselves, and we do not bolt on features that do not fit the idea.
We work with a point of view. Every product is meant to answer a specific question for a specific person, not to be everything for everyone.
We work in the open. Pricing, decisions, and limitations are said out loud, not hidden in fine print.
Where the name came from
The studio is named after 芝麻小屋 — 'little sesame hut.' The phrase suggests both the scale (small) and the warmth (a place you would actually want to be) we would like our work to have.
We are slow on purpose. The goal is to make a handful of products that earn their place, not to ship a portfolio that looks impressive on a list.
